Adult-Use Customers are limited to 1 ounce per purchase/visit, while AZ Medical Patients still have 2.5 ounce allotment per 2 week period.

Yes. Both medical marijuana and recreational (adult-use) marijuana have been legalized in Arizona. AZ medical marijuana was legalized in 2010, and recreational cannabis was made legal in 2020.

How do I get my medical marijuana card in AZ?
You can apply for an AZ MMJ card online, through the Arizona Department of Health Services. Qualified patients fall into two categories: Adult Patients and Patients Under 18 (who will need a designated caregiver). The AZDHS provides details about patient requirements on their medical marijuana informational site.
What are the requirements for a medical marijuana card in AZ?
In order to qualify for an AZ MMJ card, you must be diagnosed with one of the currently-approved medical conditions:
- Cancer
- PTSD
- Glaucoma
- HIV
- AIDS
- Hepatitis C
- ALS
- Crohn’s Disease
- Agitation of Alzheimer’s disease
- A chronic/debilitating condition (or the treatment of a chronic condition) that causes, severe/chronic pain, severe nausea, wasting syndrome, seizures, and/or muscle spasms.
If you have a debilitating medical condition that isn’t currently listed, the state accepts petitions to add a condition(s) to the MMJ program every January and July.
If I’m not an AZ resident, can I buy medical marijuana?
At this time, out-of-state MMJ patients cannot purchase medical marijuana in AZ. However, if you qualify under AZ adult-use laws, you can still shop at a dispensary.
